The Tampa Bay area is a beer lover’s paradise. There are dozens of breweries scattered throughout Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties, often congregating in areas with tons of fun things to do on date night. One of those areas is Ybor City. If you and your date love beer, we’ve put together the perfect Ybor City breweries itinerary for a beer-centric date night in one of Tampa’s oldest neighborhoods.

YBOR CITY BREWERIES

Coppertail Brewing Co

2601 E 2nd Ave, Tampa, FL 33605

One of the most popular breweries in the Ybor area, Coppertail brings a lot to the table. First off, the beers are amazing, with a lineup of core beers complemented by a rotation of new and unique seasonal beers. I personally am a fan of any sour they make, but there are quality options for lovers of any style of beer.

On top of the great beer, the ambiance cannot be beat. Housed in a century-old former mayonnaise and olive facility, the space is decked out with reclaimed pieces from other historic buildings in Tampa and features an array of interesting art pieces. The brewery also has a kitchen making it a one-stop shop for a lunch or dinner date.

When planning your trip, keep in mind Coppertail isn’t along the (free) TECO Streetcar line. While you could walk to and from the core of Ybor City, we recommend driving or grabbing a Coast Bike Share to get there to save on time.

Cigar City Cider & Mead

1812 N 15th St, Tampa, FL 33605

This Ybor City gem has a much different vibe from it’s massive, bustling big brother, Cigar City Brewing. This small space features super unique ciders and meads made right in the tasting room. You’ll also find a few guest taps and some Cigar City Brewing standbys. Mead is generally pretty sweet, but I find the spicy mead offerings here to always be top notch to balance it out.

Cigar City Cider & Mead is located in the heart of Ybor City, near the streetcar and lots of walkable dining options.

Tampa Bay Brewing Company

1600 E 8th Ave, Tampa, FL 33605

Out of the current Ybor City breweries, TBBC is definitely the original. They’ve called Centro Ybor home since 1995. This location is right in the heart of the district. Enjoy the spacious outdoor space and you’ll catch the streetcar going by. You’re probably familiar with the TBBC staples, like Reef Donkey, which you’ll find on tap all over town and on the shelves at most stores, but they’ve got 24 taps flowing with all kinds of specialty offerings on top of their core beers. They’ve also got a great food menu, with everything from a nice salad to a bacon cheeseburger wrapped in pizza dough.

Zydeco Brew Works

1902 E 7th Ave, Tampa, FL 33605

Zydeco brings a New Orleans-inspired vibe to the heart of Ybor City. Nosh on come cajun-style food while sipping beers in a dining room with windows straight into the brewery. Follow them on Facebook for the inside scoop on what’s on tap, new cocktails, and upcoming live music and events. This is a stellar spot to catch live jazz performances.

Continue the night…

Fuel up between brews at one of Ybor’s many restaurants. Here are some faves worth trying.

Casa Santo Stefano

The newest concept from Columbia Restaurant Group has an incredible main dining room with authentic Sicilian food right in the heart of Ybor City. Grab a full meal downstairs, or light bites at the rooftop bar.

The Bricks

For a casual, but delicious, dinner, stop by the Bricks amid your brewery tour. Sandwiches and bowls go great with their own well-rounded menu of local beers and creative cocktails.

Carmine’s

An Ybor City classic, Carmine’s has been cooking Italian, Cuban and Spanish flavors for more than three decades. Try some Tampa staples like their deviled crab or Cuban sandwich.
