Want to impress your loved one with a date that is a little more unique? These date ideas have couples getting off the ground and exploring the world beyond. They will have your loved one saying your time together was “out of this world”!

Here are some “out of this world” dates you and your special someone must try!

What is more “out of this world” than soaring the skies in a helicopter, overlooking our beautiful bay. Tampa Bay Aviation offers many different tours of Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater. With rides out of both Albert Whitted Airport (St. Pete) and Clearwater Airport, prices range from as low as $80 for two people, making it an affordable experience for all. Whether couples are flying over the Skyway Bridge in St. Pete or the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay, the views and the thrill of the helicopter ride will be forever engrained in participants’ memories.

For those of you who are looking for a first date idea, look no further. You will capture his or her heart after a date spent in the sky.

For those who are a little more adventurous, Skydive City offers once in a lifetime opportunities to soar through the Tampa skies. Imagine going up in a plane with your loved one and jumping out into the big blue together. It is a memory that will keep you close forever. About 45 minutes from Tampa, Skydive City is located in Zephyrhills and offers Tandem dives starting at $180. Plan to spend 2-3 hours for instruction and the dive. Skydive City has excellent reviews and provides photos and videos of the experience for additional costs. Get out of your comfort zone today and sign up to dive with Skydive City.

A date to Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry takes a less of a literal interpretation of “out of this world” dates, but provides a learning adventure of the world beyond for couples interested in stars and outer space. Every month, the museum offers a SkyWatch event from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Couples join MOSI staff in the parking lot outside the new entrance for sky gazing with the MOSI telescopes. Here, your date consists of star gazing and admiring the visible planets, and best yet it’s FREE.

In addition, the Saunders Planetarium within the museum gives visitors another chance to view the stars. Admission to the planetarium requires a general admission ticket for $12.95 per person, and an additional $5 for the 45-minute planetarium show. While you are in the museum, you can also enjoy the exhibit “Journey Through the Stars.” All of these star gazing opportunities will have couples feeling “out of this world” in love.

“Luke, I am your father,” says Darth Vader. Bring your loved one to MFA’s new Star Wars and the Power of Costume Exhibit, which is now open and running through April 1, 2018 at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. By the end of the date, your date will be following Vader’s footsteps by saying, “Babe, I am your lover.” The characters of the cinematic phenomenon are brought to life and there is heavy focus on not only the costumes of the characters, but the creative process that is behind the collection of films. The cost is $25 for adults, and includes an audio guide. Based on reviews, this exhibit is a must see. The museum is open during the day every day but on Thursday nights, it is open until 8 pm, making it a fun weekday date night.

Last but not least, a ghost tour in Ybor City, Tampa gives couples a chance to escape the real world and take a peek into the world of the supernatural. The tours are offered year-round and allow couples to explore one of the most haunted cities in the U.S. The tour has been featured on many news stations and is voted “#1 Haunted Tour in the US” by US City Traveler. Each tour is approximately 2 hours and begin nightly at 8 p.m. Reservations can be made online and tickets cost $25 per person. Check out this tour and scare your date into falling in love with you.
