St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on March 17th and Tampa is holding its 9th Annual Mayor’s River ‘O Green Fest again this year on March 14th. Beginning at 11 a.m. and running until 5 p.m., this is a perfect day date for couples in the Tampa Bay area. The Fest takes place in the beautiful Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park right by the famous Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa, which will be colored Kelly GREEN for this Irish day of celebration.

Don’t worry! The green dye is perfectly safe for the river and the wildlife living within it.

The day starts with the River O’ Green Gallop, a fun run/walk for couples looking to be active this holiday. Following the run, there will be a scavenger hunt and costume contest. On top of these planned events, The Fest will have constant live music, a variety of food trucks, and of course, Irish beer for couples to enjoy throughout the day.

Games and activities will be run, including Cabbage Toss and Corn-hole. Mayor Bob Buckhorn will also be there enjoying this free event with Fest-goers!

Although this is a great date idea for couples, it is also an ideal family affair for couples wanting to spend the day with their kids. The Mayor’s River ‘O Green Festival is a day full of fun and a unique community event. Companies and organizations all throughout Tampa Bay come together to sponsor this event, making it even more special for those attending.

In terms of parking, there are multiple parking garages close to the event, which are easy to access, as well as free street parking.

Irish or not, head on down to the Hillsborough River this St. Patrick’s Day with your significant other to play, eat, dance, and drink! Bring your loved one, your kids, or your dog along for this day of celebration.
