On April 21-22, the city of St. Petersburg will be hosting the 43rd annual Mainsail Arts Festival in the beautiful Vinoy Park. Ranked among the “100 Best Fine Art Events in the United States” by Sunshine Artist Magazine, people come from far and wide to experience it.
Couples can enjoy and purchase exquisite art, while also enjoying “top name entertainment.” Whether you are an art lover, or just want to have a few days of fun in one of Florida’s most beautiful beach towns, the Mainsail Arts Festival is a perfect date idea for couples.
At The Fest, there will be over 250 artisans showcasing the following art forms: ceramics, digital art, fibers, glass, graphics, jewelry, metal, mixed media, oil/acrylic, photography, sculpture, watercolor, and wood. Couples can walk around, enjoy the art offered, and take home some incredible pieces if they feel so inclined. All artists will be showing their best work, as there is $60,000 in cash awards they are striving for.
In addition to the art, there will be live music entertainment and a wide variety of delicious cuisine and drinks (including alcoholic beverages for those 21+) at the Culinary Arts food court. Artists such as Impulse and the Betty Fox Band will be in attendance, as well as a couple cover bands including Peace of Woodstock who pays tribute to the three-day music festival, Woodstock, through their music. More information regarding the artist lineup/times can be found on The Fest’s website.
The Fest is also extremely kid-friendly for all the couples with children. There will be a “Kids Create” art activity tent along with a “Young at aRT” student show. Although these are great details, the best news is as follows: admission is free for everyone.
The Fest begins on Saturday, April 21 at 9 a.m. and closes up shop at 6 p.m. that day. It will reopen the next day at 10 a.m. and will conclude at 5 p.m. The Mainsail Arts Festival not only showcases the art of local artists, but also gives visitors a glimpse into the funky and upcoming city of St. Petersburg.
