Well, we are officially back to peak spring break season as we head into Mid-March. While Spring Break can get a little crazy and not always family-friendly, it’s important to have a few backup spots in mind in case you are looking for something a bit more “low-key”. Basically, if you’re looking to avoid the major crowds – you’re in the right spot!
Jupiter, Florida
The first on our list is good ole’ Jupiter, Florida. Jupiter is located across the state just north of West Palm Beach and is a gorgeous, college-crowd less spot to bring the kids, relax by the beach, and enjoy each other’s company. Enjoy parks, beaches, river walks and so much more when you choose Jupiter. When it comes to accommodations, we recommend either the Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa OR the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place. Restaurant-wise, one of the highest-rated spots we could find that is great for the fam is Little Moir’s. This spot, since 2002 has been family owned and operated and brings awesome vibes, great service, and more. Check out all of their locations!
Cape Haze, Florida
Ever heard of Cape Haze? Located on our coast, this gorgeous spot is actually a 30-mile peninsula on the stunning Gulf of Mexico located about 45 minutes from Sarasota. Here you can enjoy golf, fishing, shopping, beaches, and so much more. When you stay at Cape Haze, you must stay at The Gasparilla Inn and Club! This gorgeous spot is truly quintessential Florida. Plus, the great part about this spot is the ample restaurants and dining options located right there so, you truly never have to leave once you arrive.
Bradenton, Florida
Also known as the Friendly City, Bradenton is located in Manatee County, just south of Tampa and is a great spot to enjoy a laid back spring break vacay. During your stay in Bradenton, you must book a room at Zota Beach Resort, winner of Conde Nast Traveler 2019 Reader’s Choice Award! This means Zota is one of 30 Top Resorts in Florida! Wow! The best part about Bradenton is you have a quick drive to Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach, Longboat Key, and so much more. The possibilities are endless when you choose Bradenton. So, when you finally work up an appetite, head over to the Anna Maria Oyster Bar on Cortez Rd. This spot is casual, super kid-friendly, and offers amazing seafood plus outdoor seating! Enjoy.
Cape Coral, Florida
Located right below Ft. Myers, Cape Coral is a great spot to relax, with no frills. Here you can enjoy multiple beaches, parks, even a waterpark and so much more. When you book your stay in Cape Coral there are two great lodging options. There’s the more traditional hotel-style Westin OR you can book your stay in the Matlacha Tiny Village. This village is full of funky, brightly colored, tiny homes that your kids will LOVE! You can choose from multiple tiny home units that your family will love and make memories to last a lifetime. We recommend either 10 Twenty Five for dinner which features an American Gastropub feel OR Twisted Lobster for seafood. You will want to keep coming back to Cape Coral for years and years.
Treasure Island, Florida
Our fifth and final spot on our list of laid back spring break spots is Treasure Island. Located right by St. Pete, this spot is the most local and certainly doesn’t lack in things to do and beautiful views. Book your stay at the Treasure Island Beach Resort and enjoy stunning views, blue pools, beachfront access, and so much more. You won’t want to check-out at the end of your stay here! The best place for families here is Caddy’s Treasure Island. Enjoy beachfront views, seafood, live music, and more when you dine here. Bon Appetit!
No matter which option you choose for your upcoming low-key spring break, you won’t be disappointed! Bring the kiddos and prepare for the ultimate R&R experience.
