While our site is focused on date ideas so couples can enhance their relationships, the most important relationship in your life is the one you have with yourself. Being single is hard enough, much less finding safe places to get a drink alone. Lucky for you, I’ve listed my favorite places to go when I want to get out and have a drink.

And if you’re looking to branch out, a great way to meet people is happy hours around Tampa Bay.

Best Bars in Tampa for Singles

Hotel Haya

1412 E 7th Ave, Tampa, FL 33605

The bar at Hotel Haya is part of the Flor Fina restaurant, and I love it! The space is welcoming and comes with fantastic food and drinks. The happy hour is a great deal including slashed prices on appetizers and drinks. The atmosphere is low key and quiet, making it a great space to have a comfortable drink.

I recommend the Cuban Sandwich “Sticks” and scallop agua chile accompanied by their berry bliss cocktail.

Trellis

1910 E 7th Ave #103, Tampa, FL 33605

A newer bar in the heart of Ybor is Trellis, part plant shop and part bar. The atmosphere boasts an airy and natural environment, feeling more like coffee shop vibes than typical Ybor.

They pride themselves on providing beers and wine of the utmost quality. The bartenders are very friendly and you can enjoy a flatbread or other small bites. I had a delicious glass of Cherry Pie Pinot Noir.

It all adds up to being a safe space to sip on a drink or read a book at the bar.

Madame Fortune

1930 E 7th Ave C, Tampa, FL 33605

Another Ybor hot spot is one of our favorite speakeasies, Madame Fortune. Their menu is Southern and West Indian-inspired and you can’t go wrong with any item on it. The space is small and cozy and because they limit the number of patrons at a time, you’ll never feel overcrowded.

Madame Fortune also has a great happy hour Wednesday through Saturday. You can enjoy $8 cocktails, well drinks and glasses of wine, as well as half-priced appetizers.

Timpano

1610 W Swann Ave, Tampa, FL 33606

Timpano is a brunch hot spot in Hyde Park Village but it’s also a fantastic place to grab a drink solo at the bar. Their espresso martinis are some of the best I’ve had in the city. They also have a female DJ – girl power! This is such a fun bar to put on a cute outfit and take yourself out on the town.

The Bar at Armature Works

1910 N Ola Ave, Tampa, FL 33602

If you are looking for a more casual option, the bar at Armature Works is a great option. There is plenty of parking and places to sit while you enjoy a craft cocktail or beer. The bartenders are super friendly and very knowledgeable about mixing drinks. You can also grab a bite to eat from one of the many vendors. This is one of my favorite places to come when I don’t feel like dressing up.
