One of the most tense decisions for many couples on date night is what to eat and where. If this sounds like you, no fear because we have a noteworthy option that will eliminate all of that stress- Krate at the Grove!

Krate, located at the Grove in Wesley Chapel, is an area of 94 shipping containers turned into restaurants and retail shops. This container park features artisan products and cuisines, including 29 restaurants and 17 retail shops. Throughout each month events and entertainment don the Krate stage.

The best part is it is totally contained and walkable so you can hop from place to place without wasting any travel time!

Eat: Restaurants and Treats

With 29 restaurants, Krate has more than enough options for everyone, whether you and your partner are looking to grab a snack, a meal, something sweet, or all three!

Some of our favorite spots to grab a bite to eat are Bebo’s Cheesesteaks, Chamo Bites, and Bacon Boss.

Bebo’s Cheesesteaks specializes in Philly-style items like Philly Cheesesteaks, Philly Fries, and even Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, my partner’s go-to for a snack before our meal. Another gem is Chamo Bites, a Venezuelan restaurant with amazing arepas, empanadas, and cachapas. I always get the tequenos, the Venezuelan version of a mozzarella cheese stick.

Bacon Boss Al Capone Burger – Image by Molli Keller

Our most visited Krate restaurant is Bacon Boss, a fun concept based on the Mafia with sandwiches named after members like John Gotti, Mickey Cohen, and Meyer Lansky. My order is the Al Capone, an all-American burger served on a toasted brioche bun with fries, and don’t skip the fries!

Bacon Boss also has wings, chicken sandwiches, and mac and cheese. We highly suggest ordering ahead for pick-up.

When it’s time for dessert, head to 365 Cafe or Bakery X! 365 Cafe has numerous heavenly desserts like crepes, cakes, cheesecakes, pie, and gelato, the star of the show. With flavors like Baileys, Oreo, coffee, mint, chocolate, limoncello, triple chocolate, choco chip wafer, and salted caramel, the decision is a tough one, so my partner and I usually mix and match so we can share and try more.

When we are in the mood for a pastry, Bakery X is our spot. They have amazing almond croissants, chocolate croissants, and other assorted delicious pastries. I also love grabbing a fresh, warm baguette from here to enjoy with some butter back at home.

Drink: Coffee, Wine and More

We always start our time at Krate with a beverage, or two. Choices range from nonalcoholic drinks like coffee and boba to a wine and champagne room or brewery.

Our favorite coffee location is Provisions Coffee & Kitchen, a cute little coffee shop container right in the middle of Krate. Provisions has your typical espresso drinks, hot brewed coffee, and cold brewed coffee, but their house-made syrups are what makes the experience. Flavors include vanilla, caramel, chocolate, almond, lavender, and seasonal and they are all made using natural ingredients.

We also love boba tea! Boba Mac has various bases you can choose from like iced tea, lemonade, milk tea, and slushy options. Once you decide on your base you can add flavors and boba in the form of classic brown sugar pearls, popping pearls, or jelly flavors. They are absolutely delicious!

Blush Wine Room Passionfruit Pina Colada Blushee – Image by Molli Keller

Blush Wine Room and Brew Bar are two spots we enjoy as well. Blush Wine Room has wine, cocktails, and my absolute favorite thing, blushees, a frozen specialty wine slushie in a bag. I like to swirl two flavors together to make my own unique flavor (try swirling Hurricane and Pina Colada).

They also have a self-pour station for some of their wines that allows you to pay to taste smaller samples.

Don’t miss the Brew Bar, with self-pour tap-to-pay stations that let you try a large selection of ales, ciders and more! If beer or cider is not your thing, they also have frozen drink pouches for those hot Florida days.

Shopping & Fun

Between all of the good food and drinks, we like to take breaks to enjoy some of the shopping and fun containers at Krate.

Three really cute boutiques are Katie Beth’s Boutique, All Good Things Gifts, and MaeBerry Co. Katie beth’s boutique is a boutique specializing in women’s fashion apparel, accessories, shoes, and more.

All Good Things Gifts is a modern, local gift shop with an I Heart Florida collection, cute and quirky apparel and accessories, personalized gifts, and home and lifestyle products. I always drop in this store to look for gifts for my friend’s upcoming birthdays.

MaeBerry Co is a baby and kids clothing and accessory store, with so many adorable outfits for the little ones in your life.

Life Essentials (Re)Fillery reusable items – Image by Molli Keller

We also take any opportunity at the Krate to visit Life Essentials (Re)Fillery, a sustainable grocery store that promotes zero waste by allowing us to bring containers and refill products like nuts, coffee, spices, sugar, flour, beans, honey, supplements, tea, and more!

They also have reusable containers you can purchase there, essential oils, and personal care items like shampoo and conditioner bars and toothpaste tablets, three items that make traveling so much easier.

Lastly, something fun we found last time we were at Krate was a place called Krane. Krane was two shipping containers lined with crane machines. It was fun to see if we could win any of the hundreds of prizes for each other.

Events and Entertainment

At the back center of Krate is the Krate stage, an amazing space for live entertainment and events!

Krate hosts a lot of events throughout the month, from staples like Latin Nights, R&B Nights, and Throwback Thurs, and markets, to special events and performances, like Krate’s Got Talent, Live Bands, Football Tailgates, Jeep Night, and more.

They also bring in people from the community to do fitness classes like Zumba and Xtreme Hip Hop, as well as Jeep Night.

I went with some of my friends to a Ladies Night Out event. Along with all Krate has to offer, they also had music and additional vendors set up throughout the space selling and promoting products that really catered to women.
