With the start of June, dawns the beginnings of the Summer season. School is out, the temperatures are heating up, and after a couple of weeks at home, the kids start moaning “I’m bored”, right? Luckily, Tampa is home to a handful of upcoming festivals this June that are perfect for the whole family or are the perfect excuse to hire a ‘sitter and take a night off with your girls or spouse.
Downtown Tampa Reggae Rum Festival

Don’t miss out on the best, rum-filled fest around this June and July! Head over to Downtown Tampa and enjoy delicious rum drinks, incredible Caribbean food, and all of the relaxing vibes from Tampa’s hit reggae band. All it costs is $10! With the price of admission, guests can eat all of the food they want and may try any of the deliciously tropical rum punches.
2019 Uptown Music Festival
University Area Park
June 15, 4 p.m.- 10 p.m.
Come on out and enjoy an evening of sax therapy this June 15th. This festival was originally created to bring the Uptown District together in an effort to enrich the culture through the art of music. Proceeds from the event will benefit the University Area CDC (Community Development Corporation). This year, check out headliners such as B.K. Jackson, Adrian Crutchfield, Jackiem Joyner, Tim George, and Bryan Thompson. Children under the age of 12 enter for free, so bring the whole family!
Babcock Ranch Festival of Kites

June 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Take a day trip to Punta Gorda for the Festival of Kites! At the event, incredible kite makers and those who fly the kites will be showcasing their skills through the craft of kite making, flying demonstrations, and large kites/inflatables. There will be tons to do on site for the kiddos as well, such as kite making and flying, free kite kits, family kite making, and more. There will also be a DJ, entertainment, and food trucks! Bring your chairs or blankets, and a make a day out of kites!
Downtown Dunedin Craft Festival

June 22-23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Take a drive over to Dunedin for the Craft Festival! The event is free to attend and is right along beautiful Main Street. Enjoy some of the area’s best crafters with gorgeous hand made products, created and sourced locally. There will be botanical hotplates, ceramic planters, pottery, hair accessories, and unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry.
Zephyrhills SummerFest

Don’t miss SummerFest this year! Starting at 10 a.m., enjoy the SummerFest Morning Market where you can shop from 30+ vendors all afternoon long. Once you’re done shopping, stick around from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. for SummerFest. This is the one and only fireworks display in downtown Zephyrhills. Before fireworks, enjoy dance competitions, watermelon eating contests, and delicious food!
Tampa Bay Yoga Festival

Bring your mats and enjoy the benefits of yoga at Water Works Park. Experience good vibes, multiple yoga classes, healthy food, and health-focused market-style vendors. This is the perfect festival for the seasoned or newbie yogis.
Caribbean American Heritage Month Festival

June 30, 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
This festival may require a bit of a drive, but it is totally worth it. The whole month of June is Caribbean American Heritage Month. Hosted by Caribbean American Passport News Magazine and GGR Marketing and PR, the festival will be held at Orlando Fashion Square Mall where attendees can experience the Caribbean through fashion, music, food, business interactions, and culture.
Whether you want to learn about another culture, need to breathe in downward dog for ten breaths, or are dying to see some fireworks, the upcoming festivals this June surely have something for everyone!
