The annual Tampa Pig Jig fundraiser will be back this year on October 19 at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa. More than 8,000 people are projected to attend this music and barbeque event where proceeds are donated to NephCure Kidney International (NephCure). Nephcare is the only non-profit organization committed to helping support treatment, research and the search for a cure of FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis), a kidney disease, and Nephrotic Syndrome. In the past four years, Pig Jig’s exciting events have raised more than $9 million. The fundraisers include a concert, yummy food, a corporate BBQ competition, drinks and games.
This year’s concert headliner is country music star Jake Owen and feature multi-platinum band LANCO, as well as indie rock band, Dr. Dog.
Owen is known for his musical-hits like “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “Beachin’” and “American Country Love Song.” He has released six studio albums, with his most recent, Greetings from… Jake, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and No. 4 on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart.
LANCO released their record-breaking debut album, Hallelujah Nights, in 2018. The band’s song “Greatest Love Story” is a 2X platinum multi-week No.1 hit and is the only single to go platinum before the album’s release. LANCO is the first country band in over 10 years to be at the top of the Billboard Country albums chart with a debut album and has been nominated for ACM, CMT, CMA and American Music Awards.
Dr. Dog is an American Band from Philadelphia and has released 10 studio albums since 2002. Dr. Dog’s most recent album, Critical Equation, is about the journey of discovery and has brought the band closer together.
This is a fundraising event you won’t want to miss! With three great musical artists and helping a worthy cause, it’s going to be a feel-good night to remember.
