Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar is dishing up authentic Mexican cuisine (and tequila) to couples in Tampa.Located right outside the Tampa International Mall, it is the perfect date spot after a long day of shopping. Rocco’s Tacos provides couples with a fun, casual environment to enjoy a delicious meal.

The restaurant stands out among the rest in the outdoor food court, drawing couples in immediately. With funky lighting, lively music, and two massive bars right in front, Rocco’s Tacos will have couples intrigued. Once inside, the ambiance only becomes enhanced. The vibes are good and the staff is friendly and attentive—couples will enjoy themselves before their food even comes.

Start off your meal with a drink from their lengthy drink menu. With about a dozen margaritas, including their famous Rocco Rita, which is made with their tasty homemade sour mix, there are plenty beverages to start the meal off right. In addition to margaritas, Rocco’s offers other Mexican style cocktails, including a Mexican Mule and Tequila Mojito. They also offer cervezas, sangria, wine, as well as hundreds (425 to be exact) of different types of tequila. This is an element of Rocco’s that makes it so unique—couples can get a real taste of Mexico through a shot of one of the many types of tequila they have stocked up at their bars.

While you are sipping on your drink, don’t forget to order one of Rocco’s delectable appetizers. They are known for their tableside guacamole—made right in front of you and your significant other’s eyes! The guacamole is fresh and delicious and you are given the option to make it mild, medium, or spicy depending on your preference.

The queso fundido is also excellent, made with chihuahua and cheddar cheeses, chile rajas, and your choice of spicy beef or chorizo. This dish is baked in a skillet and served with flour tortillas. These are only two of the many tasty appetizers on Rocco’s menu.

All appetizers run from $5-15 depending on which dish you decide on, making them extremely affordable for couples.

Now it’s time for the main course. Known for its tacos, Rocco’s offers a wide variety of tacos, which can be further explained by their menu. Some of the options however include chicken, slow roasted pork, chorizo, shrimp, and carne asada. You can choose to have your tacos on flour or corn tortillas, both being equally fresh and tasty. Within the tortilla, in addition to the meat, the tacos come with taco sauce, pico de gallo, cilantro, pickled red onions, and cotija cheese. The tacos run for about $3.50-5 each depending on the taco and about $16 for a set of three more unique tacos, including their famous Brooklyn tacos (pulled pork, smoked bacon, chorizo, pork belly, cilantro, onion, and salsa brava).

In addition to the tacos, Rocco’s provides couples with tons more authentic Mexican options including enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, salads, and more. They also offer a variety of specials, which can be further revealed by their menu. You and your loved one will have to check out these options upon arrival!

Lastly, if you are not too full from all the incredible food you have eaten thus far, Rocco’s offers some excellent dessert options. My personal favorite is the homemade churros, which come with caramel and rich chocolate dipping sauces—yum!

Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar has locations all over the United States, proving that it is a restaurant that you and your loved one need to check out next date night. Head on down to Tampa for some Mexican food that will keep you coming back for more.
