We are fortunate to live in a city with so many amazing events going on all of the time. Here is a list of monthly Tampa events, spanning both sides of the bridge. Bonus: many of these events are low cost or free as well.

1. Yoga at Curtis Hixon Park

Every Sunday (weather and park availability permitting) at Curtis Hixon Park you can participate in yoga with your date courtesy of Yoga Downtown Tampa. This is a great way to relax and prepare for the upcoming week with your partner. This event is free to the public with donations accepted. Pro tip: continue the experience with a walk down Riverwalk or grab a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant. YogaDowntownTampa.com

2. Rock the Park

Love live music? Take your date to a free concert in the park once a month. Rock the Park downtown Tampa's FREE monthly music concert series is scheduled on the first Thursday of every month and starts at 6:30pm. The lineup changes monthly so you can experience different local artists every time you go. This is a lively event that is sure to be a great time. You might even have a chance to snuggle up close to your date while you bust a move or two on the dance floor. RockTheParkTampa.com

3. First Friday in St. Pete

On the first Friday of every month, downtown St. Pete hosts a massive block party, showcasing local bands, shops and restaurants. First Friday St. Pete happens on Central Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Street. The party lasts from 5:30pm until 10pm. 4. History Bike Tours

On the first Saturday of each month, History Bike Tampa offers a tour of the Tampa area. Each of the tours is approximately two hours in length, and the destinations change every month. Although the tour is free, a $5 donation is requested for the tour, which begins at 10am at the Kahwa Coffee location in downtown Tampa on the corner of N Tampa Street and E Polk St. BYO bike.

This is a great way to burn a few calories while learning more about the city as you pedal through the area's charming neighborhoods. HistoryBikeTampa.com

5. Second Saturday Art Walk in St. Pete

The Second Saturday Art Walk is perfect for art enthusiasts. Coordinated by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, the walk takes place the Second Saturday of each month from 5pm to 9pm. Th event serves as an opportunity for more than 40 galleries and studios within the EDGE District, Grand Central District and Warehouse Arts District to premier their new newest works. You can plan to walk, drive or take a trolley to explore the galleries in the different neighborhoods. 6. Porch Party at Museum of Fine Arts

The Museum of Fine Arts hosts a Porch Party on the front steps of the museum where you can hang out and chat over drinks and delicious food on third Thursday of every month from 5pm until 7pm. During those hot summer months from May to September, they bring the event inside the Conservatory. The food is complimentary, and there is a cash bar. 7. Flicks and Food Trucks

Catch a movie while enjoying some tasty gourmet food from up to 20 of the best local food trucks. Flicks and Food Trucks is held on the third Thursday of each month from 6pm until 10pm at The Grand Central at Kennedy. This urban event is free for groups of all ages. 8. Urban Restaurant Bike Tour

The Urban Restaurant Bike Tour occurs the last Thursday of each month in Downtown Tampa. Starting at 5:30pm, this tour is perfect for the foodie who does not want to feel guilty about indulging. Enjoy a leisurely bike ride with scheduled stops to sample food and drinks at a few of the local restaurants in the area. FloridaBikeTours.com

9. Downtown Tampa Fourth Fridays

Have a fun Friday at Fourth Fridays in downtown Tampa. Fourth Fridays is a monthly celebration of Downtown Tampa’s rich arts and culture scene! It’s an evening of special offerings and programs by cultural venues, restaurants & more. Park your car and then hop on the trolley, water taxi or bicycle and explore downtown. 10. Critical Mass Bike Ride

Join Critical Mass for their monthly bike ride on the last Friday of every month. The group meets at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Ashley at Twiggs at 7:30pm. Critical Mass welcomes anything human-powered: skates, boards, yes, bikes! The ride is approximately 10 miles and moves at a fairly casual pace. CriticalMassTampaBay.com
