The Italian Club of Tampa hosts an annual weekend of Italian Awesomeness (that’s not technically the title, it’s really Festa Italiana, but that’s my translation) this weekend, and the awesomeness begins this Thursday with the annual Wines of Italy food and wine showcase.

This annual wine extravaganza features dozens of wine vendors pouring samples of over 80 different wines from all over Italy, including reds, whites, and Italian sparklers! Find your favorites, or try some new tastes – Italian wines are so much more than just Chianti or Pinot Gris. Barolo can rival world famous French Boudreaux in longevity, character, tastes and smells, but at fraction of the cost. Tuscan wines are simple and powerful, all at the same time. And Italian sparkling wine is well, just delicious.
Nibble great complementing (and complementary) foods from local restaurants. Pair your favorite wine with tasty treats from restaurants like Carrabba’s, Amici’s Catered Cuisine, Anise Global Gastrobar, The Taco Traveler, District Tavern, and more! Get an authentic taste of Italian cuisine with these delicious options. Live entertainment throughout the night the Ken Loomer Quartet, and hundreds of silent auction prizes round out the night.
Yeah, silent auction prizes. I’m addicted to them, and the Wines of Italy prizes are some of the best. They range from gift baskets, Straz tickets, 10 person wine dinners at local 5 star restaurants, vacations, and some great magnums and double magnums of vino!
And any wine you taste is available for immediate purchase at special Wines of Italy prices. Taste some wine Thursday, and bring some wine home for later!
