MORE fun to experience at ZooTampa this year!

Florida Wilds

This new immersive area just opened on March 3. Featuring more spacious habitats for native species so they can thrive, it also provides engaging moments of diversion and education for guests. Guests can get closer than ever to the animals that call Florida home – not just alligators, skunks, and flamingos, but also large black bears and beautiful, but endangered. Florida panthers and red wolves.

The new viewing area at Florida Wilds allows guests to get closer than ever to the animals.

Hamadryus Baboons

A new species is joining the popular Primate Realm at ZooTampa – Hamadryas baboons. This unique member of the Old World monkey family was a sacred
animal to the Ancient Egyptians and a representative of their god of learning. The group of six brothers, who came to ZooTampa from New York’s Prospect Park Zoo, made their public debut in early March. They’re located in a sprawling, fully remodeled habitat featuring expansive windows allowing guests to have unobstructed viewing of their remarkable silver mane, pink faces, and playful nature of these intelligent primates.

Manatee Rescue Center at ZooTampa

ZooTampa’s David A. Straz, Jr Manatee Critical Care Center is already the second largest critical care facility in United States. This year, they’re amplifying its
leadership and efforts aimed at saving Florida’s iconic species. They will be increasing capacity in late 2022 for the direst cases, including adding a nursery pool for the smallest of patients.

Stingray Bay

Guests will have a chance to touch and feed graceful stingrays, at their discretion, while they swim carefree in a new state-of-the-art habitat. Stingray Bay will be home to safe-to-touch species, including cownose and southern stingrays. It will feature a 34,000-gallon saltwater pool that will be low enough for young children to peer and reach into the water, yet provide “rest zones” and “hides” for the animals. There will also be a truly unforgettable opportunity to wade into the water for a rare up-close-and-personal encounter with these amazing animals!
