The great thing about living in Brandon, Valrico, Riverview and east Tampa during the fall is how close you are to a lot of farms!


It’s PUMPKIN SPICE everything season so hooray for pumpkins and pumpkin patches and spice and nice! There are tons of fun ways to celebrate fall in Florida, even if it means sipping apple cider in shorts and flip flops instead of scarves and boots. While the leaves might not be changing, the vibe around town is and that means it’s time for all things fall and what better way to celebrate than by checking out a great local area pumpkin patch?

It’s not officially fall until you’ve visited this Brandon pumpkin patch. Bring your friends and family out to wander through rows of pie pumpkins, mini pumpkins, white pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, highly stacked hay bales, garden mums and much more. Come winter, this is also a great spot to pick up a Christmas tree!

Kerby’s Nursery Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin Patches That are Worth the Drive from Brandon

While these don’t exactly count as Brandon Pumpkin Patches, they’re not too far and definitely worth the drive!

Fox Squirrel Brandon Pumpkin Patch

Plant City (about 30 minutes from Brandon)
This annual pumpkin patch and corn maze in Plant City, FL, about 20 minutes from downtown Tampa, features a corn maze, live music, duck races, fall games, a pumpkin patch, butterfly garden (additional charge) and more. Make it a complete date day by pairing up your visit with a stop at Keel Farms, which is a short 15-minute drive from the maze. Bring cash for the on site vendors as many don’t accept card payments.

Pumpkin Patches that Are Less Than an Hour Away

Gallagher’s Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Trees

September 16 – October 30, 2023
St. Petersburg (about 35 minutes from Brandon)
Located in St. Pete for more than 30 years, this family-owned business is the perfect spot to capture super cute photos for the ‘gram/tok while you select the best of the ‘patch’ for your home at their pumpkin patch! You can also pick up a yummy homemade pie and even feed goats in the goat pen.

Before you leave, be sure you snap a photo in front of the popular vintage pickup truck. Check out the patch’s Instagram page for photo inspiration. As an added bonus, this lot is dog-friendly!

Hyde Park Village Pumpkin Patch

October 4 – 26, 2023
Tampa (about 20 minutes from Brandon)
Come pick out the perfect pumpkin at south Tampa’s Hyde Park Village. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. This south Tampa pumpkin patch will be located by the fountain near Pottery Barn.


Corky’s Pumpkin Patch at Keel Farms

Keel Farms in Plant City is hosting this NEW event in Tampa Bay that will feature a four-acre corn maze for you and the kids to navigate as you find hidden clues and solve a riddle with the rooster mascot, Corky and pals. There is also a pumpkin hatch, hayrides, kids’ zone, and more! Stick around and enjoy some of Keel’s fruit wines, sangrias, beers, and ciders during their Harvest Days event.

Annual Heights Fall Festival Pumpkin Patch at Armature Works

Saturday and Sunday Oct 14 & 15 and Oct 21 & 22, 2023 12:00pm – 5:00pm

Heights Fall Festival will take place across two weekends in October. The dates are 15th, 16th, 22nd and 22nd from 12:00pm – 5:00pm and will feature a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, face painters, activities for the whole family, and live music.

There will also be a small market featuring some of our favorite fall-inspired vendors! Participating vendors include Sugar & Ice, Hahn’s Kettle Corn, JJ’s Nursery, Glowing Gourds, and Front Door Designs. You also won’t want to miss your opportunity to build the perfect fall bouquet when you stop by the Tonella’s Flower Truck on the Heights Pier.

Bearss Grove Pumpkin Patch

Watermelon Swim’s Annual Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch

Lutz (about 40 minutes from Brandon) and South Tampa (about 30 minutes from Brandon)
It’s watermelon season, Tampa Bay! You can visit Watermelon Swim’s Pumpkin Patch daily in Lutz and South Tampa and then come back to experience their annual Fall Festival at both locations. The FREE Fall Festival will feature trunk-or-treating, a costume parade, plenty of fall games and prizes, the cutest fall photo spot and more. It’s the perfect way to get your whole family into the fall spirit.


Pumpkin Patch Express

The Florida Railroad Museum is calling “all aboard” for a neat train experience as you embark on the Pumpkin Patch Express to a field full of pumpkins to pick, as well as kid-friendly activities on your 2-hour journey. Trains will run at 50% capacity to ensure room to social distance. Children are invited to pick their own pumpkin to take home. Everyone is also invited to participate in other crafts and activities.

Raprager Family Farm Pumpkin Patch

Raprager’s fall Festival is BACK with even more fall fun on the farm! There are new attractions this year including axe throwing, pumpkin painting, a 900ft inflatable maze, baby cow, and more. The haunted barn is back along with the hayrides, petting zoo, hay chute slide, and other favorites.

Harvest Holler Pumpkin Patch

This working family farm in Polk City is a classic fall favorite and sports an incredible pumpkin patch, with hundreds of different sized pumpkins from which to choose!  There are GIANT carving pumpkins for your next Jack-O-Lantern and assorted sizes all the way down to the most ideal of dining room table decor. Best of all, this patch makes a great place to take your fall photos so make sure to dress for the occasion.  And more than just a pumpkin patch, they also have a great corn maze, corn hole, an authentic country store, hayrides, and prepared food for sale grown right on the farm!  It’s just a hop skip and a jump from Brandon, maybe a little farther for Riverview, but practically next door to Plant City and Valrico!

This community church’s Youth Pumpkin Patch is loaded with an amazing, beautiful selection this year! All proceeds go to Pasadena Community Church Youth camps and mission trips. They have pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colors including white, pink and green along with gourds galore!!!

Pumpkin Fest 2022 at Florida Botanical Gardens

Largo (about 50 minutes from Brandon)

The 7th Annual Pumpkin Fest returns to Florida Botanical Gardens with a pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, spooky actives and more. Enter the event through the Walsingham Rd entrance. The Scarecrow Contest where you can build your own scarecrow for a chance to win a top prize will be held on October 22 during the festival as well! Cost: Free admission, $10 per pumpkin


Pint-Sized Halloween Party at Southwest Complex in Largo

Sweetfields Farm Fall Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

Tickets to this farm’s annual festival include a variety of family and date-friendly activities, including an intricate corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride, and more. There are tons of things to keep the kiddos busy if you’re bringing the whole family. Buy your tickets early! This even often sells out and tickets are not available same day in the event of a sellout.


21st Annual Brooksville Pumpkin Patch

Downtown Brooksville (about 60 minutes from Brandon)
The Brooksville farm is a real-life pumpkin patch and has hundreds, if not thousands of pumpkins–to choose from! The farm says most of their pumpkin deliveries are a few days off the vine, so they should last you through the holiday…and maybe even grab some cute ones for decor for Thanksgiving. They also have food vendors, produce, a petting zoo, tortoise experience, and more. On select dates, Cinderella, Spiderman, and Captain Marvel will even be visiting!

Green Acres Farm in Spring Hill is hosting its first Fall Festival and they can’t wait to host you for a day on the farm with local vendors, pumpkin patch and food trucks. The is the same location as the You Pick Blueberries farm you may be familiar with already.


Frazier Farms Fall Festival and Corn Fest in Brooksville

32nd Annual Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Patch Festival and Corn Maze

This Bradenton farm’s annual pumpkin festival includes live music and shows, a pumpkin patch, fall eats and sweets, a corn maze ($2 extra), and so much more.

Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival

A quick hop down to Sarasota to check out Fruitville Grove’s 33rd Annual Pumpkin Patch Festival might be just the change of pace and scenery you and your bunch of little pumpkins need!  Held every weekend throughout October, it includes fun family-friendly activities, a butterfly garden, pony rides, family circus and of course, a Pumpkin Patch! There will be a children’s costume contest every Saturday at 2pm. Cost: $5 parking, admission is free.


Southern Hill Farms Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival

Thursdays-Sundays from September 23- November 12, 2023
Clermont, FL (about 75 min from Brandon)

About an hour east of Tampa, just north from Walt Disney World is the cutest farm/fall festival for families! This year’s 8th Annual Fall Festival at Southern Hill Farms will feature a new 5-acre corn maze, u-pick sunflowers and zinnias, a pumpkin patch barn, kids zone, and more. There will be live music and even flat screen TVs to make sure you don’t miss your favorite game. You can even taste the yummy apple cider donuts, blueberry lemonade, frozen and hot apple cider, pumpkin muffins, and more. This event is cashless and tickets must be bought in advance.
