The Tampa Bay History Center continues its popular Tap Talks series in July and August. This month, History Center Curator Rodney Kite-Powell will focus on Cigar City Brewing’s Maduro Brown Ale and the stories and people behind Tampa’s iconic “Cigar City.”
Tampa has a legendary history – it’s one of the few cities in Florida that has a real history. As the center of the rum smuggling operation during Prohibition in the 1920’s Tampa played a key role in moving rum into the US. Today, Tampa is a leading city in micro brewing – and Cigar City Brewing is a big part of that! The history behind Tampa Bay and Ybor City – also known as Cigar City due to the cigar factories – is fascinating and a great learning opportunity!
Although this event has already passed, there’s still a ton of great content on Tampa Bay Date Night Guide!
