For those who love to read, there is nothing better than a fresh book and a quiet place to read. Just on Central Ave. in St. Pete, you'll find a quaint and cozy new spot: The Book Lounge.
Now, you may just think this is any old small book shop; however, that couldn't be further from the truth! Once you step through the fiery red entryway, you'll find yourself transported into a location straight out of your favorite romance novel.

Upon entry, the book nook is there to greet you at the entryway, adorned with “Buy me books and tell me I'm pretty,” and, let's be honest, what book girlie doesn't want that?! This place quickly became one of our favorite quiet date night spots, and we're going to get into all the details!
What is The Book Lounge?
The Book Lounge was opened by mother and daughter duo Natalya and Pamela, who share a love of reading.
Here, you can peruse the shelves, purchase some titles off of your “must read” list, and sit down to quietly enjoy. There's plenty of seating at the tables and couches, and The Book Lounge even makes a great place to study or get some work done—we know from experience!
If you're looking for an ultra-quiet space, head to the back of their shop, where you'll find another, larger nook area that's just as cozy as the rest of the store, but hidden away from the general noise.
What makes The Book Lounge Unique?
With every red bookshelf lined with famous romance titles, spicy short reads, and plenty of Blind Date with a Book options, this is a great place for a sweet and down-to-earth date, without the expensive price tag.
Different from most book shops, The Book Lounge offers wine, bubbles, charcuterie, and delicious Fishwife tinned seafood! Talk about yum—and it's perfect for a simple, yet romantic, date night!
They also have a selection of board games to choose from and play. How about a game of Clue or Battleship? Catan anyone? Pull out a classically loved game and have a seat at one of the larger community tables, with the perfect amount of space for all the game pieces. It's also a great way to make new friends!
The Book Lounge's Small Bites
The Book Lounge has a short menu at its little café, which adds the perfect little bite to any date.
The Fishwife Tin Fish Experience: This option allows you to try some delicious tinned seafood, beautifully plated with artisan brioche toasts, fresh peppers, crisp cucumber, sweet carrots, and roasted Marcona almonds. Each tin is also paired with a suggested wine to complement the flavor.
Artisan Charcuterie Boards: These made-to-order boards come in sizes for 1 to 10 people, and the different types of cheeses and meats vary. Each board comes with a variety of crackers, grapes, dried fruit, Marcona almonds, and your choice of jam or honey drizzle.
There are also vegan and vegetarian charcuterie board options that feature hummus, Muhammara, pita crackers, fresh veggies, fruits, and nuts.
The Wines: As far as wines go, The Book Lounge features plenty of reds, a handful of whites, and sparkling options, as well as rosé, non-alcoholic, and dealcoholized wines.
Tea and Coffee: They also have a tea and coffee bar with plenty of delicious drinks if any of the adult beverages don't suit your fancy!
How do I reserve space for a date?
If you want to plan a relaxing date night, you can make a reservation online, and The Book Lounge will keep a reserved spot where you and your special someone can read books, play board games, snack on charcuterie, and sip on some delicious beverages!
Each reservation is $15 per person and includes the following:
1 glass of wine or non alcoholic beverage
A snack of popcorn or pretzels
1.5 hours of reserved seating
Unlimited access to the board game collection
