Summer is the perfect time to schedule a date…or two! Whether you need a date night out or the whole day away, the perfect date is so much easier to come by than you would expect. Pick a day, call your favorite ‘sitter, and look into a pottery class! Everyone remembers going to paint pottery either as a child or with your child, so why not go and make a date out of it? Pottery classes around the Tampa area offer sculpting, open studios, classes, workshops, and more! The best part about pottery is it totally kid-friendly (depending on the class) and is a great activity for the whole family. Off the Wall Tampa

Check out Off the Wall Tampa for all of your ceramics and glass needs. Off the Wall has been around since 1974 and features a full-service shop with bisque, ceramics, high and low fire clay, different glasses, and so much more. Off the Wall offers three class options such as Ceramic Painting Classes, Clay Handbuilding Classes, and Glass Fusing Classes. Ceramic Painting Classes are offered Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Glass Fusing Classes are offered on the first and third Saturday of every month with limited seating. You Do the Dishes

You Do the Dishes is a creative studio haven with pottery, a full-service coffee bar, and so much more. The studio first opened its doors in 1998 with the sole purpose to bring creativity and an artistic space to anyone and everyone to walk through its doors. The coffee bar at You Do the Dishes offers specialty espresso drinks with Buddy Brew Coffee, soda, and other treats to keep you happy, caffeinated, and full while you allow your creative juices to flow. The studio is open every Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m.-10 p.m. Not to mention, the first Saturday of every month is what You Do the Dishes calls Midnight Madness where they keep the studio open late until midnight! Creators also have the opportunity to Paint and Sip so bring your own beer or wine to unwind and create!

The Potter’s House Studio

The Potter’s House is the perfect place for a cute environment with trendy vibes and lots of pottery for your Pottery Date Night. The studio is open to both novices and experienced potters! The Potter’s House offers beginner stenciling and stamping and even how-to videos so that everyone, of all levels, feels comfortable. Charlie Parker Pottery

Charlie Parker Pottery is a top-notch pottery studio owned by Charlie Parker himself. Mr. Parker has been working with ceramics since 1967 and since then has become an established potter, receiving awards for his work including the Muse award for Artist of the Year in 2018. Classes are open to everyone and are perfect for a date night (bring your own wine) or for a group outing. All group classes are $40 per person! Classes are open Monday- Saturday at 10, 12, and 2. The Pottery Patch

The Pottery Patch is Valrico’s first pottery studio with a great spot to create and unwind. There are over 300 pieces of bisque to choose from and loads of stamps and stencils, as well as idea books to help get your creative juices flowing. So, pick your piece, your stencils and such, select our paint, and create! It’s as easy as that. When you’re finished, the art will, of course, be glazed and burned in the kiln for a beautiful shiny piece of art! The Pottery Patch is open Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Pottery Patch is extremely accommodating so if you need to set aside time for a party or get together, give them a call!
