Check out these Key West Must-Do’s
Chances are, you’ve already seen pictures or heard of this famous tourist attraction. It is the Southernmost Point of the continental United States, after all. So while you’re in Key West, it’s practically a requirement to visit this location and snap a picture with the well-known buoy. While here, you can also enjoy the beautiful ocean views. Also, fun fact, there is a live webcam you can use to check out the buoy and see how busy it is before going.
Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum
The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum has a lot more history than you would think. At this very building, the famous author, Ernest Hemingway, lived for over 10 years before he was as known as he is now. There are even rumors that he wrote some of his famous works while living in this very house. While on your vacation to Key West, this museum tour would make for a great stop.
Dry Tortugas National Park
Taking a ferry 70 miles out to sea from Key West will get you to the awe inspiring Dry Tortugas National Park. The actual park consists of a total of 7 different small islands. Within these islands, you’ll find the main attraction: Fort Jefferson. While there, you can also enjoy a variety of activities, including guided tours, snorkeling, bird watching, overnight camping and more.
Mallory Square Sunset Celebration
Everyone knows that watching the sunset with your significant other is romantic. But, can you imagine a romantic sunset evening mixed with a celebration and fun? At Mallory Square in Key West, you can have it all! A nightly sunset celebration takes place at the square with entertainment including magicians, clowns, musicians and so much more. And of course, during this entire celebration, you can watch as the sun sinks down beneath the horizon.
Obviously, Key West is a summer tourist destination for a reason. If you’re in the island city, you have to spend time outdoors. Whether that’s on a boat tour, out on the waves on a jet-ski, scuba diving, or even snorkeling, is up to you and your date. No matter what, you’ll find some way to make the most out of your time outdoors. As long as you remember sunscreen, you’re bound to have a good time.
Dinner on the Water
Dinner with water views is a must when you’re in a place as beautiful as Key West. There are tons of options, but some of our favorites include A&B Lobster House for amazing seafood, Bel Mare for coastal Italian, and Bistro 245 for American dishes you’ll be thinking about long after your trip.
