Businesses and parks throughout Tampa Bay may experience different levels of impact as Hurricane Helene approaches. Some businesses have decided to close out of caution on Thursday, September 26, and some have decided to close early on Wednesday, September 25 in preparation for the storm.

Be sure to pay attention to local emergency officials and meteorologists.

Tampa Bay Closures:

Tampa International Airport:

Tampa International Airport will suspend all flights at 2 am on Thursday and will resume when safe to do so.

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport:

The airport’s terminal building will close after the last flight arrival on Wednesday, September 25, and will remain closed all day Thursday, September 26. Flights will resume Friday morning.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Following the latest updates on Hurricane Helene, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will be closed all day Thursday, September 26.

ZooTampa:

The zoo will be closed to guests on Thursday, September 26. The zoo plans to resume operations on Friday, September 27, including Creatures of the Night.

Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center at The St. Pete Pier:

Closed on Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26.

Florida State Park Closures

Multiple Florida State Parks are closed due to Hurricane Idalia. Get updates at floridastateparks.org/StormUpdates.

Sunken Gardens:

Sunken Gardens will be closed on Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26.

Sparkman Wharf:

Currently, no closure has been announced.

Straz Center:

The Straz Center will be closed on Thursday, September 26. Ticket holders will be notified individually.

Florida Aquarium:

The aquarium will be closed on Thursday, September 26.

The Dali Museum:

The Dali will be closed on Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26.

For those interested in visiting The Dalí Museum virtually, TheDali.org/Virtual includes materials to engage audiences.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium:

CMA will close at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 25. It will remain closed on Thursday, September 26 until further notice.

Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA):

PSTA will suspend services on Thursday, September 26.

Hillsborough County Public Libraries:

All HCPL locations will be closing at 5 pm on Wednesday, September 25 and will be closed all day on Thursday, September 26.

Disney World Closures

All Disney theme parks, Disney Springs, and water parks will remain open and operating under normal conditions. Please continue to check back for updates.

Universal Studios Closures

Universal’s Volcano Bay will be closed on Thursday, September 26. Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure will remain open. Halloween Horror Nights for Thursday, September 26 has been cancelled. Please see website for ticket holder info.
