Tampa Bay Cooking Classes

When it comes to creating fabulous food, there can never be too many cooks in the kitchen, especially when it’s the two of you. Take the chore and bore out of meal making by attending one of these Tampa Bay cooking classes together. Tampa Bay cooking classes will expand your eating experiences, encourage you to try new tools and techniques and perhaps shake you out of your at-home meal time rut.

Epicurean Hotel

This tasteful setting showcases all that is in good taste. The Epicurean Theatre is designed with foodies in mind. Theater-style seating overlooks a state-of-the-art kitchen where epicurean experts conduct classes in their respective food-related fields. Located on the lobby level of South Tampa’s Epicurean Hotel, this sophisticated classroom hosts top chefs from around the world, celebrated cookbook authors and specialists from craft cocktails to fine wines. Many events offer opportunities to interact with the guest chefs not only by asking questions but also by joining them center stage for a chance to shake, bake, slice, dice or simply sample. See what’s on the upcoming events calendar.

After some great food and vino at Epicurean, you might want to wander over to Tampa’s Riverwalk for a stroll!

Sur La Table

The scent of something delicious that greets guests as they enter Sur La Table’s Hyde Park Village location signals that there is a cooking class being conducted. What may be the best-outfitted kitchen, filled with all the latest cookware and utensils, is quite a sight. The appetizing action takes place around a curved counter that boasts a centerpiece stove surrounded by burners. Classes can coincide with store hours allowing shoppers to observe the tasty topic du jour. Even if you don’t cook the part, you will look the part of a real chef while slicing, dicing, seasoning and sautéing in this setting. Classes last less than three hours and can range from instructions for making individual sweet and savory hand pies to a spring-inspired menu that’s ideal for date night. Special date night classes for couples regularly appear on the class calendar.

Publix Aprons Cooking School

The prototype for the Publix Aprons Cooking School opened at Tampa’s Gunn Highway location more than 15 years ago. There’s a reason it is still going strong and has spread to other cities throughout Florida, including our sister city, Orlando. Aprons offers some of the best Tampa Bay cooking classes, and its expert chefs are adept at engaging students in entertaining ways and explaining what it takes to make great meals so that everyone can grasp the knife right, master mincing garlic and wok with the best of them. Classes range from learning the basics to butchery and baking, cooking with craft beer to coaching couples to create a lazy day brunch. You’ll learn, you’ll laugh and you’ll leave with terrific recipes, lots of useful information and experience and, best of all, leftovers.
