Thanks to Shine On Mural Festival, St. Pete is full of murals on what seems like every corner. Since there is a plethora along the stretch of Central Avenue that goes from Downtown to the Grand Central District, all beautiful in their own unique right, the best way to see them is by bike. Coast bikes cost $10 an hour (or $25/month for an hour/day). The bikes allow you to cover more ground and explore each neighborhood without having to walk. CoastBikeShare.com/stpete/

Gaze Into the Stars at the Planetarium

Sit under the stars in St. Pete College’s 24-foot domed theater known as the Star Theater. Friday night shows are hosted by a local astronomer who shares his/her vast knowledge of constellations while showing featured images. Sit back, look up and get ready to be transported into space. After the show, make your way up to the rooftop observatory where you can gaze into a telescope to see the real thing. Two showings happen every Friday night while college is in session – at 7pm and 8:15pm. Shows last approximately 45 minutes and the rooftop observatory viewing is only possible after the late showing.
