What is the Capybara Café?
The Capybara Café concept started in St. Augustine, and after much success, they have opened a location in St. Pete! Guests can make reservations to meet the Capys in their Capybara Lounge or private room for a more personal and intimate connection.
The lounge experience is 25 minutes of hands-on fun and opportunities to learn about the life of a Capy from their knowledgeable staff! Visitors can also enjoy snacks and café drinks — just don't give any of those sweet treats to the animals!
Other Animal Meet and Greets
The café also has a few other meet and greet opportunities to spend quality time with other animals like Lemurs, Fennec Foxes, Skunks, Wallabies, Coatis, and Armadillos!
Similar to the Capybara Lounge, in the Lemur Lounge, guests will spend 25 minutes interacting, playing, and learning about these energetic primates!
Two other meet and greet options include multiple different animal encounters in one package. The Mini Safari tickets include experiences with three animals: a wallaby, a coati mundi, and an armadillo! Learn about each animal's behaviors, adaptations, and great down under habitat! With the After Dark ticket experience — don't worry, it isn't held after dark — visitors can sit with a skunk, ringtail cat, and fennec fox. This particular encounter highlights the wonders of the nocturnal world, during the day!
The Capybara Café is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
