Ômo by Jônt

If you’re looking to impress on date night, Ômo by Jônt delivers one of the most elevated dining experiences in Orlando. This immersive chef’s counter concept is from the same team behind the two-Michelin-starred Jônt in Washington, D.C. Led by Chef Ryan Ratino, Ômo showcases a refined menu focused on Japanese seafood and locally sourced meats and produce.

Each course is artfully presented in a sleek, intimate setting. It’s no surprise this Winter Park gem is a finalist for Best New Restaurant at the 2025 James Beard Awards.

Bar Kada

957 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789

Chef Michael Collantes, known for earning a Michelin star at Soseki, has returned with a new concept next door. Bar Kada is a 30-seat wine and sake bar featuring small plates crafted from Central Florida produce and local seafood. The drinks menu is curated by Benjamin Coutts, Michelin's 2023 “Sommelier of the Year.” The setting is cozy and intentional, offering a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere for an intimate night out.

Gyukatsu Rose

3201 Corrine Dr, Orlando, FL 32803 (East End Market)

Next on the development list from Small Food Group is a must-try for Wagyu beef fans. This spot, right around the corner from DOMU and right next to Rion's Ocean Room at East End Market, focuses on Wagyu only. Serving up wagyu cutlet sets alongside sizzling stone grills for a tasty Japanese-inspired experience.

Smokemade Meats + Eats

623 Virginia Dr, Orlando, FL 32803

This one’s for the BBQ lovers. Located near South Downtown (SoDo), Smokemade Meats + Eats delivers smoked meats and comfort food in a relaxed, counter-service setting. The menu includes brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, and even jackfruit for plant-based eaters. It’s casual and unfussy, making it a great low-key stop that still feels special thanks to the quality of the food.

Lamp and Shade

1336 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL

Lamp & Shade is Mills area’s newest dining and nightlife concept. Playfully yet eloquently named, Lamp & Shade Craft Kitchen and Cocktails got its inspiration from the idea to ‘hangout and throw some shade in conversation’ while paying homage to the history of its building, previously The Lamp Shade Fair, well-known by locals for over 50 years.

If you have spent time in the Mills 50 district of Orlando it's got a character all its own. Beloved by Orlando locals for its artfulness, support of the LGBTQA+ community, and unique local businesses, it is a great neighborhood for exploring the real Orlando.

Chuan Fu

1035 N Orlando Ave #105, Winter Park, FL 32789

For delicious, upscale Chinese dining Chuan Fu is a must-visit! This Sichuan restaurant by the owners of Chuan Lu Garden and U & Me Revolving Hot Pot, opened in Winter Park in October 2023 – and it's already made it into the MICHELIN Guide for Orlando. The restaurant occupies the space that most recently was Orlando Meats. It is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Monday.

New Bars in Orlando

Alfie’s HiFi

1300 N Mills Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32803

This new vinyl listening bar with a '70s vibe has opened in the old St. Matthews' Tavern space in Mills 50. Disco-era cocktails like Midori sours and Pink Ladies keep with the '70s theme. Alfie's is comprised of three separate rooms: the first with a 22-seat bar and high ceilings; a middle room with two sections for table service and a direct view of the DJ booth where “the music hits direct”; and a lounge with banquette seating and a dance floor.

The Phoenix Jazz Club

69 East Pine Street, Orlando, Florida 32801

One building, two unforgettable experiences! A new chapter begins as Mather's Social welcomes their newest sister venue—The Phoenix Jazz Club, located just below Mather's Social. Step down to the 2nd floor for an evening of smooth jazz, cocktails, and an intimate, inviting ambiance.

Packwoods Bar at Maitland Social

From the same talented folks as Lamp and Shade comes Packwoods Bar. Located inside the new Maitland Social food hall, Packwoods Bar brings sophistication in its decor. The Vibes are equal parts date night and upscale local hang.
