Best Restaurants for Girls Night

  • Water Street Tampa
  • Hyde Park Village
  • SoHo Area

There is no shortage of restaurants that are perfect for a girls night out in Tampa Bay. You just need to narrow down your choices and consider what kind of vibe you’re looking for.

Water Street Tampa is chock full of new and exciting restaurants. We love this option because you’re bound to find somewhere you haven’t been before and there are plenty of other activities to walk to from there making it a great starting point for your night out.

Hyde Park Village and the surrounding SoHo area also offer a similar destination where you can choose from a variety of restaurants and still walk to a bar after or even do a fun activity before dinner like painting ceramics at Color Me Mine or making candles at the Candle Pour.

If you’re looking for something new and exciting, we are regularly updating this list of restaurants and experiences that have just opened or are expected to open this year.

Kick things up a notch and keep things cozy with a private dining room booking for your next girls night out in Tampa Bay. This option likely requires a fair amount of planning ahead but would really let you and your friends let loose in your own space without having to worry about cooking or dishes.

Best Bars for Girls Night

  • Sparkman Wharf & Channelside
  • Rooftop Bars
  • Karaoke Bars
  • Wine Bars
  • Toast the Hostess
  • Tampa and St. Pete Breweries
  • Tampa Bay Speakeasies
  • Boozy beach bars in St. Pete

We’ve already touched on
Water Street, but the rest of Channelside including Sparkman Wharf are rich with bars to hop to like Park & Rec and Small Giant.

If you’re looking for a place to make a night of it, consider a rooftop bar with scenic views and excellent cocktails like Beacon at the JW Marriott Water Street. Keep girls night on a budget and a little earlier by checking out a great happy hour spot like Haven or Ava.

Add a fun activity into an evening of cocktails with gal pals by hitting a karaoke bar. There are plenty located throughout Tampa Bay ranging from having a full bar as your audience to just your group by renting out a private karaoke room.

For a calmer energy, we’ve also got a great selection of wine bars in Tampa where you can sit, sip and catch up with your girlfriends. We love the vibe at Cheese Please on South Mac Dill for an unassuming and intimate girls night wine bar hang. Their cheese boards and gourmet grilled-cheese sandwiches are oh so good, and perfect to share.

Our favorite spot over in St. Pete for a slower-paced gathering is Toast the Hostess, which has a gorgeous garden bar and patio perfect for sipping bubbles and chatting, plus a boutique selling timeless gifts for the home. They also have a “cottage tea house” style bungalow perfect for hosting your celebration in style (with catering available).

If wine isn’t your thing, try out some of the local brews with our guide to Tampa breweries, or this walkable brewery crawl in St. Pete.

If you and your friends like sours and ciders, we love Webb’s City Cellar, Green Bench’s second tasting room next door to the original in St. Pete, where they brew their meads, ciders and experimental ales. It’s 21+ with a patio balcony and an indoor bar and hangout space where you’ll be front row to the brewing and fermenting process.

Tampa Bay has a few swanky speakeasies that are great for a girls night out. Madame Fortune’s Dessert + HiFi Parlor is a really cool one in Ybor City hidden inside Roast Deli + Bakery which has live music and Caribbean soul food in addition to delicious craft cocktails.  Dirty Laundry in St. Pete is filled with Insta-perfect photo-ops for you and your girls, where you can sip on lush mojitos and get your groove on dancing to the late night DJ.

If you’re on that side of the bay, we also love the idea of a beach day in St. Pete followed by bar hopping at these boozy beach bars.

Tampa Bay Girls Night Out – Fun Activities

Looking to break away from the standard girls night out? We have some ideas for you there, too. Spend a day outdoors or kick your evening up a notch with an extra fun activity to help you bond.

Girls Day Out

  • Kayak or Stand Up Paddleboard
  • Sunset cruise
  • Instagrammable spots
  • Awesome Tampa pools with ResortPass
  • Dali Musueum
  • St. Pete Pier
  • Book and Bottle

Get outside in this gorgeous Florida weather for a day date with your girlfriends. Hit the water in a
kayak or stand up paddle board. If you don’t want to put in that much effort, try out a sunset cruise or a floating tiki hut.

We love the idea of spending the day hitting up a few of the fun instagrammable spots around town – you can never have enough pictures with your friends and we’ve done the legwork to find some cute backdrops for you.

Head to a beachfront resort for the ultimate insta pic background. You don’t even have to stay the night. Check out your ResortPass options to grab a cabana for the day for your group instead.

Keep things indoors for your Tampa Bay girls night out by visiting one of our area’s fabulous museums. We’re partial to spending a day at the Dali Museum. It is a great museum and right in the heart of so many other fun things to do in St. Pete. Walk to the St. Pete Pier after and truly make a day of it.

If you and you girls share a love of reading, Book and Bottle is another very pretty and very versatile place in St. Pete. It’s a bookstore plus wine + coffee bar offering regular book club meetings – just read the book and show up. They also have a wine club with some really nice perks including discounts in-shop and private wine-tastings perfect for planning future girls’ nights.
