The overly used phrase “New Year, new me” was popping up all over Instagram and Snapchat at the end of the holiday season, but “New Year, new restaurants” seems to be more fitting for Tampa. A lot of places have been popping up all over town. Here’s just a few of Tampa’s Newest Restaurants to try out this year.

The Platt Street Borough

The Platt Street Borough took over The Hyde Out’s old building right on Platt Street across from The Hyde Park Cafe. They offer a variety of signature cocktails, wine, and beer to enjoy over some small bites like chips and quac or truffle nachos. For a bigger appetite, try the kale salad or buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. On Sunday morning, the kitchen changes up their menu to include bottomless mimosas and avocado toast for brunch.

Bulla Gastrobar

Bulla Gastrobar is now open on Soho right across the street from Daily Eats and The Green Lemon. While this Spanish tapas restaurant that started in Coral Gables should be a first choice on everyone’s list for date night, it also works as a second choice when The Green Lemon’s wait time is too long. They have plenty of seating and a nice sized bar to sit at if all you are looking for is a craft cocktail or a glass of wine from their extensive wine list.

CW Gin Joint

For a night out in downtown Tampa, check out the newly opened CW Gin Joint on North Franklin Street. With lots of bar seating and large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, CW Gin Joint is the perfect place for a romantic night out. Their drink menu is huge and offers something for just about everyone. The same can be said for their food menu that has everything from a loaded baked potato to seafood to sandwiches.
